Join us on a 2-3 hour foraging walk and talk through woodlands, meadows and hedgerows, learning what the season has to offer. Deep dive into the world of wild food guided by professional foragers, scientists and herbalists. Learn the myths, folklore, history, medical uses and edibility of common and unusual wild food.

The perfect gift of lovers of the outdoors, hiking, nature, and herbalists and foodies. Perfect Christmas gifts for those wanting to start a new hobby or learn more about foraging.

During the course you will be foraging alongside our experts; Megan, Guy, Lucy and Tim who give a different perspective from their different fields of study. Megan and Guy, the foragers, will give identification, and culinary perspectives to wild food alongside the folklore, history and other uses of each plant. Lucy shares a herbalism point of view that will expand your mind to the magic of plant medicine and how you can use it to your advantage. Tim provides a scientific viewpoint to the medical applications, the chemical make up, and why some plants are so deadly!

The course will start at 10:30am for a safety talk and overview. We will then head out into the downs, woodlands, hedgerows and meadows to forage for seasonal fungi and plants, learning how to identify them from their toxic lookalikes, their properties, edibility, uses and more. We will stop halfway round for your choice of a cup of wild herbal tea or foraged fizz. A detailed email will be sent to you the next day recapping what we found and providing recipe ideas for the wild food we identified.

LOCATION: Our courses are based in South Downs National Park in West Sussex, Surrey and Hampshire. The exact location will be emailed to you 2 days prior.
